How to Play Bingo- Cards and Numbers
Bingo is almost entirely a game of chance and the rules of the game are simple indeed.
Bingo is played with cards which are divided into a 5 x 5 grid: five columns across and five columns down. Each Bingo card has 24 numbered spaces and one blank space in the center. The numbers on the cards are assigned randomly, and the caller's balls are drawn randomly.
The top of the card has the five letters in the word B-I-N-G-O, and the random numbers are listed below the letters as follows:
in the B column - from 1 to 15
in the I column - from 16 to 30
in the N column - from 31 to 45 with the blank space in the middle
in the G column - from 46 to 60
in the O column - from 61 to 75
The bingo caller will always call the letter and the number, i.e. B-2 or N-33, etc. so that the player will not have to search too hard to find the correct column for the number.
At the outset of the bingo game, each player purchases one or more cards. There is usually no limit to the number of cards a player may purchase. The caller begins calling the numbers until one or more players shouts "Bingo". The players mark the called numbers on their cards with a marker or "dauber". A winning card depends on the Bingo patterns determined by the game organizers.
